All of our vehicles come with premium features including air conditioning, bluetooth, cruise control and parking sensors.
It’s not enough to simply rent a fully equipped vehicle. If your transport is subject to tachograph requirements, the driver must have a valid driver card and company card and must be properly trained when picking up the vehicle. It is also important to correctly record trips, breaks, rest periods, and other work.
No. The customer must obtain these cards independently through the relevant authorities. Therefore, when picking up the vehicle, you must have all the necessary cards and documents ready in advance.
Before crossing the border, you need to check what fees are required for commercial vehicles in that country and enter them as a requirement in the booking notes. All our vehicles are equipped with a Slovak vignette and part of our fleet is equipped with Austrian ECO plaques. Foreign vignettes must be obtained at your own expense.
If necessary, you can order 24/7 EU-wide Raodside Assistance with your booking.
PLEASE NOTE: When entering Hungary with a van, you must purchase a D2 category vignette, which applies to all commercial vehicles.
Dimensions of all our vehicles can be found in the Fleet section. In this case, we recommend renting an N0 to N1 category vehicle from us, which are comparable in dimensions to passenger vehicles, but still provide enough space for transporting cargo. With other vehicle categories, entry to the garage is prohibited.
NOTICE: The client is responsible for any damage and must check that the garage is high enough for the vehicle to be driven into and handled in the garage.
No, all AVIS vehicles have pre-paid motorway tolls within Slovakia.

The amount of the deposit is individual for specific types of vehicles. Choose a specific vehicle category, check availability and make an online deposit, which will be credited back to your account after the rental (after deduction of the rental amount). As a rule, the refund takes up to 5 working days.
If you do not see the funds released after this time, the delay is probably due to the issuing bank, so please contact our booking office by email at info@avis.sk, where we can send you a confirmation of the settlement on our side with which you can contact your issuing bank.
The average age of our fleet is 6 months.
A vehicle condition check is carried out before each rental. The current condition of the vehicle is recorded on the Acceptance Report. It is the customer's responsibility to make sure that any damage to the vehicle is noted on the report. If you find damage to the vehicle that is not listed on the Acceptance Report, please contact AVIS branch staff before using the vehicle.
If you are not satisfied with the vehicle, please contact or visit the AVIS branch where you picked up the vehicle and depending on the range of vehicles available, we will exchange the vehicle for you. However, please note that a change of booking (change of vehicle type) may result in a change to the rental amount. You will be informed of the difference in price.

You will need a tachograph if you rent a commercial vehicle or a vehicle with a trailer and use it for international freight transport where the vehicle or vehicle combination exceeds 2.5 tons and the transport is carried out commercially. The decisive factors are not only the type of vehicle but also the purpose of the trip, whether borders are crossed, and the total maximum permissible weight of the entire combination. For these purposes, AVIS will offer a separate category of vehicles equipped in accordance with current European legislation. However, if you use the vehicle only for domestic trips within Slovakia, this requirement does not apply to vans weighing up to 3.5 tons.
Minimum age 25 years
Deposit in the specified amount (by card directly at the branch or online at avisvan.sk in the Online Deposit section)
If any warning light comes on in the vehicle or if the vehicle reports that it is due for a service, do not underestimate it and report it immediately to the AVIS Fleet Department on +421 902 933 887 or by e-mail to fleet@avis.sk.
For more information, please visit the Assistance section .
AVIS provides the client with a vehicle. However, the client is responsible for determining whether their specific transport falls under the tachograph regime, for the driver’s readiness, for the driver card, for the company card, for the proper use of the tachograph, and for compliance with driving, break, and rest rules. When renting a vehicle, it is therefore important to consider not only the vehicle itself, but also the company’s internal processes and the driver’s readiness.
If the rented vehicle is inoperable or otherwise inoperable, please contact Allianz assistance at +421 2 50 122 222 .
For any damage to the vehicle, you must complete the accident report included in each vehicle and notify the lessor within 24 hours.
For more information, see the Assistance section.
We do not complicate VEHICLE RELEASE unnecessarily. a) Administration, which does not take much time - checking of personal documents: ID card (passport), driving licence. b) Deposit: you will need a credit card with a minimum validity of 6 months to make a deposit. (Also valid if you have paid the deposit online) c) Vehicle inspection: our vehicles are thoroughly inspected before each rental and any existing damages are recorded in the handover report. Vehicle collection is possible during the opening hours of the branch concerned, which can be found at: https://www.paylesscar.sk/sk/kontakt.html.
When picking up the vehicle, please inspect its condition and verify the information in the vehicle protocol. Any discrepancies must be reported before you leave the branch. Photos or videos taken by the customer prior to the rental are not considered binding confirmation of the vehicle’s condition.
RETURN OF VEHICLE: The vehicle must be returned at a pre-agreed time, at an agreed location. The vehicle must be returned with a full tank of gas and in a condition to allow for inspection. Any damage or defects to the vehicle must be reported to the rental staff. The vehicle can be returned during the opening hours of the branch.
Effective July 1, 2026, this requirement applies to vehicles and vehicle combinations with a maximum permissible weight exceeding 2.5 tons, provided they are used to transport goods abroad for a fee or other form of compensation.
Yes. When determining the weight limit, the maximum permissible weight of the vehicle, including any trailer or semi-trailer, is taken into account. Therefore, the entire vehicle combination is relevant, not just the van itself.
The final deposit amount will be determined in accordance with the security protocol.
